http://www.wakeupmicrosoft.com/

"We would like to thank you for the egregious display of noise terrorism commited on Ludlow Street between Stanton and Houston during the early hours of Sunday, February 25th. At approximately 03:00 EST, a Toyota FJ Cruiser with a competition grade car stereo rolled up outside of 178 Ludlow Street. In what was seemingly a desperate bid for attention, music was blasted in a very dense residential area...A video was obtained of the act, which is featured below."

I've always scratched my head a little when I've read about some of the marketing that the Zune team has done, but this one really blew up in their face. This guy went out and registered a domain and launched a Web site for the sole purpose of complaining about this tactic, and I don't blame him: I'd be ticked off if anything like this happened outside my window. What I find strange though is that he didn't seem to do anything about it, like going down to the car and asking them to stop it. What would you have done in his place?

Ah, what wouldn't I have done?

Well, I wouldn't have not called the police. I wouldn't have not written down their licenses. I wouldn't have not called Microsoft the next day demanding my money back.

Waking people up at 3AM, I'd expect them to be handing out free Zunes.

WTF? Who in their right mind would think for even a second that stunt is appropriate.

Sure, I'd be pissed too. But I wouldn't hide behind a web site - I would have gone down there and told the dipsh**s to turn off the music. Is that so hard? This guy wants "restitution??" Looking for a pay-day, huh? Plus, he lives across the street from a club. I bet this isn't the first time it's been loud out there.

I don't think that we're nearly looking for restitution as much as a formal apology.
