Why is notes so fussy?

I have had this issue for a while (with default notes or PI notes).

When I want to use the drawing function, to jot somthing down, it ussually ends up a mess. All the writing slides up to the top and overlaps. What am I doing wrong? :(

I also try to seperate what I have written (after its all messed up), and I can't seem to do that...

Any suggestions? Any other software alternatives?

The same thing happened to me (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11437) a while back. (Screenshot included in the linked thread.) There are options listed in the thread which helped -- such as setting the zoom to 150%. Ultimately, though, I ended up switching to PhatPad (http://www.phatware.com/phatpad/index.html) and haven't looked back since. It's far superior to the built-in Notes app! I literally use it every day at work and home.
