Ridiculous Power Usage?

This article claims that, supposidly, AMD should have quad core CPUs in 2007. Anyone got an idea how much power these processors and future processors will consume? It sounds a bit ridicoulous to me. I while processor speeds have decrease and consumed less power (so far) but how far can Intel and AMD go? I have heard of analogies for computer's power usage...like, a computer's comsume as much power as a fridge. What's next? 4 or more Fridges?
