Restoring using Sprite

I've run into a little problem, and I don't know if it's just me doing something wrong or the forces of nature have aligned against me. My iPAQ rx3715 went beserk on me yesterday, and in the course of things, had to be hard reset. Fine. I had a backup from Sprite (on the desktop) from earlier in the day. Unfortunately, it won't restore. Tried it from the desktop and from the device. Tried 5 other backups I had. They all seem to hang on restoring the registry and/or history (I'm not sure what history it's referring to). If I pin reset the device then it hangs on booting up and just remains at the initial boot up screen (not the hard reset screen). So I have to hard reset it again. And so on and so forth. Ideas?

Never mind. Apparently, I've got the infamous File Store lockup problem.

I think I'm just going to go get a Day Timer. This has not been a good week for me and PDA's.
