This 111.7mm x 60.7mm x 22.0mm device sports a 2.8" 65K-colour QVGA screen, a Samsung S3C2440 400MHz processor, 64MB RAM, 128MB ROM, GPRS/GSM - Quad-Band, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an SDIO slot, a 1.3MP camera, a 1440mAh Li-Ion battery, Windows Mobile 5.0, and for interest's sake, Skype as well. Any of you have your eye on this one?

Looks extremely attractive and cool!! It is a miracle that Eten can fit so many things into a small device. All the new upcoming Pocket PC phones make me drool. :ppclove:  :rotfl: There are just too many new device coming out recently. Which one is the best anyway? HTC Universal?

It occurs to me that if MS can make WM good enough they can make it very easy for small OEM's to chop the top of Nokia et al's high end revenue, in the same way that a large number of WM OEM's took on Palm.

Nice, but will it be coming to North America? I'm desperately tempted to buy a Windows Mobile Smartphone, but so many of these devices are either not coming until late next this year/early next, or not coming to the US. Talk about frustration! :|

This unit felt pretty good holding it, both to use as a PDA and as a phone, but it was pretty darn ugly.

I did talk to them about their plans to bring it to the USA, and they said that they didn't have any because of all the red tape and restrictions the FCC puts on imported units. Don't hold your breath waiting for this one boys...

Darn it, it's a pretty sweet looking unit. I'd seriously consider buying one.

I have the M500 and it's a great device except it gets horrible reception compared to my previous PDA2K. Don't know why that is but that would be the only thing that would prevent me from upgrading to this device.

I would think that you could get this device in the US by ordering from the UK as I did with the M500. Makes support a bit of a headache but luckily I haven't needed it so far.

So how many cell phones/PPC's/Smartphones are "not" imported into the USA.

you'd reckon something that chunky would have dual compactflash slots to boot :?

It looks fat but actually fits in to your hand quite nicely. I would like it to be thinner for sure but it's really not as bad as it looks. Calling it fat compared to the Universal is a bit odd though. While the Universal looks like a nice device, it is a brick compared to the ETen.

To each his/her own, of course. Every forum I ever read about any device; some people love it, some hate it. I'm just glad that at least a few companies have finally gotten to playing with the PPC's form factor in a meaningful way.

Coming from an I700 owner, don't buy a PPC phone that has the stylus come out from the bottom.

I'm really intereseted, because it looks to be the first available WM5.0 device with 850 band and a touchscreen. However if the HTC Wizards is available before that I'll prolly run with that :)

I second that motion (I'm an A730W owner... stylus also at the bottom). I don't know what OEM is thinking when they put those stylus in the bottom of their units. It's just plain wrong "IMO".

I'm actually considering a convergence device as my next PDA. 8O

After seeing one of my co-workers with his XDAII and carrying about my two devices the one device option is growing like a lit cigarette butt at the bottom of a trash can. {pardon the odd analogy, non-smoker here}

I'm still a little concerned with what I have to give up. Like the screen size, and dual expansion... USB Host... etc.

The m600 seems kind of nice. I wonder if it will get FCC approval.

I must be coming down with something.

Does anyone know if the m500 ever got FCC approval?

i wish they would come out with a fair compromise phone device that wouldn't compromise battery usage with processor speed. Ie making the h4700 or the loox 720 with all the current features and having phone capabilities.

Hmm the Eten 600 is really nice, possibily an upgrade for me when it comes out, however im not too keen on having no KB, the slide down keyboard on my SPV is amazing, makes everything much easier...

As for the HTC universal, i personally see that as a joke, its huge you might as well buy a nintendo DS.
