Wifi Downloads

If I am on the internet using wifi can u download a program...then transfer it to ur computer. Would the porgram work or would converting mess it up?

Yes it works. No conversion takes place.

Ensure you're downloading the local device installer (usually CAB), and not the desktop installer (usually EXE).

I think the question concerns downloading a program that requires PC install to a WM device and then transferring it to the computer.

Your host computer will only carry out conversion on file types that are listed in ActiveSync under Options..Rules..File Conversion..Conversion Settings, where you can change the settings for what gets converted as the files pass between the host and your PPC in either direction. File types such as .zip and .exe will not have conversion options and they will move in either direction through the AS conduit without any change.
