With Jpeg2Pdf, you can create a photo album using a simple file browser interface. It natively supports different page sizes and layouts, and with PDF being a pretty universal format, you'll be able to send your "album" around to your friends and family straight from your Pocket PC. To top it off, Jpeg2Pdf is free. For those of you who try this out, be sure to let us know how it stacks up.

Interesting. Just today, I purchased my very first digital camera - a Pentax Optio S5n :D

However, it's my experience that PDF viewing on a Pocket PC leaves much to be desired.

More than this tool, I find cepdfcreator lib to be a bigger news for me.

I am so HAPPY.

Thank you, ActiveSync, for restoring my PDA to its original self.

Thank you Hard reset, Restore button, Soft reset, all of you!

You had me worried there, old iPAQ 1935, old buddy, but I'm glad you're back. Man, it was like you were half asleep or something, I couldn't even Sync you anymore. And don't worry, I won't be installing this image programme inside you again, I promise.

Was this review helpful to you? Y/N

For those of you who try this out, be sure to let us know how it stacks up.

I've used some of his other programs (passman) and they seem to be really easy to use and streamlined.

I just tried it and it didn't work.

It created a PDF file but when I put in my desktop machine and tried to open it with Acrobat Pro 6 I got a "Wrong Operand Type." Error.

FYI,

It didn't work! After opening up the program I went to tap on any of my folders that have jpeg's, and the program freezes up my ppc. Have to do soft reset. Anyone else with this problem?

After opening the programme and pressing a single button, the screen went dark. Nothing brought it back, so I soft reset it. I was left with a very sluggish unit. I deleted the programme and it was still sluggish. It wouldn't sync properly and each action took up to a minute to react.

I learnt how to Restore there and then.

Hello.
I'm sorry for what happened to your PDA. It would be really helpful to have the Jpeg images which caused Jpeg2pdf to crash or, alternatively, the actions you all did on Jpeg2Pdf. I hope we can all collaborate to enhance this application.

In the meanwhile, reading your mails, I probably found the bug: a double tap on the folder tree could freeze the device. This bug will be fixed within the end of the week.

In the meanwhile, to open a folder or choose a file, you must do a single tap on the '+' symbol or on the file. Never a double tap!

If it's at all useful for you, I can add that I had no pdfs in my unit when I installed your software. I also had plenty of MB in both storage and programme memory. Programmes already installed included Icbar, Textmaker, Calligrapher, Full Screen Keyboard, MortButtons/Player, a couple of games, Resco explorer, a soft reset button, a Sidex applet, Microsoft reader, Pocket Stars, Spb Time, a driver for an external keyboard, TK Creator, Fast Clean Up and ConverterCE.

I hardly recall what happened now, but after I pressed the start icon, I saw an explorer-like menu (I think) and when I tapped the screen it all went dark. After soft reset I found it was all going very badly (even the soft reset took about 20 seconds longer to complete), so I immediately disinstalled your programme. Disinstallation happened quickly but nothing I could do would bring my unit back from NeverNever land, so I had to hard reset it.

I wish you luck with your debugging.

Best wishes,

Chris

Hello.
v.1.01 of JPeg2Pdf is now released. This version contains some bug fixings and improvements.

1. Fixed PDA crash when double tapping on the folder tree
2. New image rescaling/resampling algorithm in preview mode
3. Added progress bar while writing the PDF album

1. This bug was not evident with the Microsoft emulator and all the testing was done by simply clicking on the '+' sign. Many thanks to you all (I'm sorry for all the soft/hard resets you had to do).

2. This enhancement fixes some memory problem which could occurr to PDAs with 32Mb or less of internal memory. The PDA could slow because of memory problems when downloading large Jpeg files.

3. When creating albums with large pictures or a big number of photos, the simple "Writing album...." message is misleading and could lead to the conclusion that the PDA is freezed. Now Jpeg2Pdf has an interactive window with a progress bar showing the status of the PDF file.

Thanks again.
Best Regards
