<a href="http://www.jgui.net/DND/">http://www.jgui.net/DND/</a><br /><br />Here is an interesting app for Pocket PC Phones and MS Smartphones that will automatically reply to inbound SMS messages that you are busy, away, asleep or whatever you like. You can even customize actions based on phone number groups, like family members.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/hansberry/2005/20050504-smsdonotdisturb.jpg" /><br /><br />It is $14.95 at the <a href="http://www.handango.com/ampp/store/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=311&productId=163596">Pocket PC Thoughts Handango Store</a>. There is a trial version, but it is limited to 3 replies.

This is the kind of software I expect from a phone running on a general purpose computing platform. Very creative AND useful.

I think it's good that you can select only certain numbers to reply (or not reply) to, to exclude automated messages (Exchange AUTD, etc) or email messages sent via the carrier's email-to-SMS gateway.

"Have you any reason to not pick up the Phone?"
"- No reason at all."

Heh heh.

I am not sure I get this. If the purpose is to send an SMS message as a response to not answering the phone, why doesn't the person just leave a message through the voice mail system? My voice mail says: Sorry, i can't take your call right now. Please leave a message and i will get back to you as soon as i can.

Am I missing something?

This is for inbound SMS messages that you don't respond to, not voice calls.
