http://www.medc2005.com/

MEDC 2005, the Microsoft Mobile & Embedded Developers Conference, is coming up fast - it kicks off May 9th and runs through the 12th. I won't be attending, but our very own Peter Foot will be reporting from the event, giving us session summaries and posting on anything he finds interesting. MEDC is aimed at developers, but anyone who's interested in the Windows Mobile platform will definitely find interesting nuggets of information in what goes on there. I have a feeling a few things will be unwrapped that week. ;-) Who here is attending? I'd offer to pay for dinner, but I'd probably go broke and I wouldn't be there to enjoy it anyway!

If this is the first you've heard about MEDC 2005, and you're a developer, check out the official site. Bill Gates is the keynote speaker, the Blue Man Group is providing entertainment, and it's at the very nice Mandalay Bay Hotel. What more could a geek ask for?

And do you know what sucks? Robert, Neil, Andy Wigley, and Mike Hall each have a session in the same time slot! That's just not fair - too hard to choose.

I am open to bribery, however

Pfft, this is an easy one :) Come see mine! It's going to be so much fun, with lots of code, lots of crazy new features in Visual Studio for working with data, etc.

I think I share the thoughts of many of your forum's readers when I say "It sure would be nice to have a job that would afford me the opportunity to aquire a $1200 ticket to goof around with new stuff and learn first hand where the mobile technological market was headed!"

Meanwhile, I'll be eagerly awaiting the news you all are sure to report back to us.

Thanks in advance.

Heh. Nice try :) I've got handouts to go along with my presentation that illustrates many of the classes in the upcomming Microsoft.WindowsMobile namespace. We'll have a blast talking about how to use those APIs and common mistakes people make when getting started with them.

UK event???

There are local MEDC events being held in select countries around the world sometime in June. Korea, Germany, France, UK, Australia, China and Malaysia are all on that list.

Here's a link for your local UK MEDC event: http://www.microsoft.com/uk/medc2005/default.mspx

It's too bad your handout will only cover the namespaces you cover in your talk, and not ALL the namespaces that will be available. See, if you were to do the handout like the guy that started handouts at MDC last year (wink) you MIGHT have a chance to top my speaker score :)
