Can any of you please assist me with the questions bulleted below?

I have an iPAQ 2210 with a 256MB Kingston SD card made in Japan. For the first time ever, when attempting to execute iPAQ Backup and PM, they simply hang with the "hourglass" and a soft reset needs to be performed in order to gain control of the PPC. Activesync even gives me a connection error when the card is inserted in the device. AS works fine when the Kingston card is removed.

I believe I have isolated the problem to the SD card because Backup and PM work fine with the card removed and with my Lexar 1GD SD card. However, I can execute and use every program residing on the Kingston SD card. WM2003 File Explorer and Resco Explorer access and work with the card fine.

* Have any of you had similar problems with iPAQ Backup, PM, or and SD card? If so, please articulate and/or diagnose the eventual problem and advise how they were resolved.
* Is reformatting the card a good option? If so, what are some ways to re-format it since PM simply hangs when attempting to access the card?

Thanks for your assistance.

I'd say it's definitely the card.

Kingston SD cards have always had problems with applications/devices that continuously write to them. They have problems with SD-based MP3 recorders (for example, my Mambox P353), they have problems with apps like NoteM (see http://www.pocketpcmag.com/newsl_jkwg/JKWG_02-22-05.htm , http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/index.php?action=expand,37799 and http://www.pocketcasting.com/archives/2005/02/21/recording-on-the-pocket-pc/ ), and, seemingly, they also have problems with iPAQ Backup.

There is not much you can do expect switching to another card.
