how can i improve wifi streaming (video) w/ betaplayer?

I can map ok and access my files/play them, but the stream stops every few seconds as betaplayer tries to buffer a bit more - is there a way (i've got the latest betaplayer) to wait more up front (have betaplayer buffer more) so that there is no annoying stop in the action? i'm playing with about a 30 minute avi file (80mb).

I assume you're trying to stream over WiFi? Try turning off power save mode. This should greatly improve performance.

My company sets up wifi networks for streaming video. Wifi B is only 10 megaBITS per second. If you're using B, this may be your problem. G offers over 5 times more speed and works very well with even better quality streaming video.

A test might be to disable your wifi and use your hard connection and active sync as the stream source and see if you still have chappoy vid.

802.11g doesn't help at all in this situation, because all PocketPCs are 802.11b. Anyway, 802.11b should be more than fast enough for the kind of streaming we're talking about. I've streamed a 42 minute, 350 MB video from my desktop with no problem.

i also noticed a "normal buffer size" setting in betaplayer - it's set at the default of 2400kb - should i increase that? also - i have betaplayer installed on my SD card - does that make a diff? any other settings in betaplayer i should change?
