Does anyone know if it is possible (and how) to change the clockspeed of the Pentium M CPU? I wanted to figure out how to increase the minimum speed, because some applications I start run or start up way too slow under 600 MHz. I have a Dell 700m laptop w/a Pentium M 1.8 GHz (2 MB cache).

you can disable the power saving software, and disable the speedstep settings from bios, but be aware that your runtimes will decrease notibly

Thanks. By runtimes, you mean battery life?

exactly.
new pentium M chips have lots of improvements so that the system uses the processor power only when needed. if you disable these optimisations, the system will work on full power thus decreasing the battery times
