this is a great thread that finally got me really going with converting DVD's (or vid files) to view on my PPC.
i do have some questions though i'd love to bounce off anyone using the same setup...
1. Is there a good "rule of thumb" for megabites per minute of video... maybe we actually need 2 of these, one for cartoons (which compress much better), and one for movies/TV.
2. in this tutorial the guy uses the Xvid codec and outputs to .avi (in advanced settings AK), but i was wondering if there is an advantage to using the DivX5 codec and DivX as the output?
that's all for now but hopefully we can strike up a good thread... once i get some basic rules of thumb down (and a repeatable process) i'll kind of know what to expect quality and size wise each time a rip a movie/show/cartoon.
THANKS!
