I'm an amateur at networking - I hooked up a wireless router to my desktop, connected to the Internet via cablemodem. When I turn on WiFi on my Axim x50v, the computer disconnects from the Internet, and I can't seem to reconnect unless I restart the desktop. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Just to confirm correctly wired equipment.
Internet>cablemodem>router>(splits off here) to desktop and wirelessly to PPC

Then confirm NAT is on. And DHCP is enabled. Most routers come that way by default but there's a first for everything. Most Internet Service Providers give you 1-2 IP addresses. Because of this you are having trouble connecting more than two devices at the same time (router/desktop or router/ppc). Natural Address Translation and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol when enabled get around that.

Read the manual for the default password to the router.
