Codewallet 2005 is the best software in its category. There is no competition for it. Just have a look at the features and you will understand why I am saying that!
Try it out now! its certainly worth it!

Couldn't agree more... 8)
I'm running the trial since yesterday... The older Codewallet Pro was already excellent, now it's gotten even better with a fabulous look on my VGA Loox720. Nice new feature is option to customize the fields of every card in your digital wallet. Cool stuff 8)

I'm currently running version 3.7
Does anyone know the upgrade policy? I couldn't find it on the site.

Never mind. I found it here (http://www.developerone.com/codewalletpro/upgrade.htm)

$54 for the Pocket PC and Desktop version for a customer who purchased that combo for $30 just over a year ago? Outrageous.

yes...it probably has the most features, Yes....it probably is very good looking on VGA. Yes....it probably is very secure....but it's for sure the most expensive app (desktop + ppc) in his kind. 54 dollar is way to much for me. These prices scare me off, no matter how good a program is.

All I want to know is if this app supports Real VGA mode on VGA power PC's. My version is tiny even with the app fonts set to large.

PS- Devone's software has always been overpriced.

$54 for new licenses does seem very pricey, although this _is_ one of the leading apps in its category. Ilium's eWallet is $29.95 and Two Peaks FlexWallet is $24.95 (for desktop+device bundles). I wonder if CodeWallet is that much better to command nearly 40% premium over similar products.

i'm partial to eWallet myself. the few times i have tried codewallet, it just wasn't different enough for me to switch.

I'm a SplashID (http://www.splashdata.com/ppc/splashid/index.htm) fan myself and at $30 it falls into the mid-price range.

I'm quite happy with this price. It's high enough for me to realize I'm quite happy with the present version, and thus, just saved a bunch of money. ;)

Yep, I won't be upgrading either or if I decide I need to I think I will be heading to flexwallet.

The cost of the ppc/desktop versions is way too steep and basically saying naff off in terms of upgrade price to anybody that has purchased prior to 1.1.2004 seems like they're thumbing their nose at me.

Im currently an eWallet user... dont see any features that would convince me to switch?

What benefits does CodeWallet have over eWallet?

Spash ID for Pocket PC user here as well. Looks just fine in VGA on my hx4700 and only cost me $30 for desktop and ppc combo. The feature set delta is no where near enough to pay almost twice as much for Codewallet.

Its the best, it has all the essential features. Price is right. The most important things - Import and export of data and record level sync. I was able install, import data and sync in less than half an hour. The same key works for palm version too - just incase you switched to Treo 650, like me.

I purchased this app in 2002 so I guess I am looking at full price. So nice of them to offer a discount if I purchase both the desktop and PPC versions (what good is one without the other). As far as I know there has only been one small upgrade in the past three years, so what's with the $54 pricetag.

Is this application really as complicated as Agenda Fusion (both are $29.95). I know it's a new version and all, but is this how you say thank you to a loyal subscriber.

As I am starting over (I pay the same price as a new user) I might as well look at the competition and determine which app is right for me. Even a dollar might have made me feel appreciated. The current version seems to work fine for me, so I am in no big hurry.

PR.

Way to expensive!

I have Flexwallet 2005, I bought the desktop & ppc combo and when I got a smartphone a reduction in price is offered so I always have my flexwallet with me.

If I switched to Codewallet that would be $70+ ?!

I picked up the free desktop version of this program when Handango ran a promotion earlier this year. I don't think I've paid that much for ANY program, outside of Textmaker, which I bought when it first came out a couple of years ago. Textmaker was well worth it. :|

I'm in the same boat, having purchased the Combo Pack back in 2002. I just sent them some negative feedback regarding their non-support of older customers. Unless they relent and offer a more generous upgrade policy, I'll either stay with the present version or look at the competion.

No, they don't have to offer any sort of upgrade discount if they don't want to. But, if they're going to offer any sort of discount at all, they ought to consider those who purchased their product prior to 1/1/2004. It would certainly garner more good will toward the company in general.

I can understand why they have no loyalty discount.

At this price, who else would purchase it other than past users (me being one of them)?

Here's the reply I received from Developer One to my polite note voicing my displeasure over their CodeWallet upgrade policy:

"you have already had 4 YEARS of use with the previous versions at the low price you paid at the time. You are not forced to upgrade if you do not wish to."

Based on that snooty response, I doubt that I'll ever buy another product from them. I didn't ask for a free upgrade. Again, they don't have to offer anything, that's purely a business decision. But, it's the thought that counts.

Here's another reply I just received:

Greetings Paul, I believe there was a bit of confusion here over the
pricing as we have been making some changes here and will indeed be
modifying the pricing policies in the next 24 hours.

It is our aim to provide the updates at a fair price, and we are working
hard to insure that we can do this and at the same time be able to
dedicate the resources necessary to deliver on many new updates within
the new 2005 version series of CodeWallet Pro.

I guess I'm not the only one to complain :)

Looks like they reworked the pricing. The upgrades from older versions are now $19.95 for stand alone and $34.90 for combo.
The standard pricing of a combo is also down to $44.90.

I've been beta testing this new version from the moment public beta was announced. I was impressed at how the developers quickly reacted to all the bugs and even implemented some suggestions on the fly.
IMO the user interface could use some tweaking but as it stands now this must be the most featured electronic wallet out there.

The price is fair considering all the new enhancements that Developerone brought to us!
Just have a look here: http://www.developerone.com/codewalletpro/purchase2005.htm

The ppc + desktop bundle costs 44.90$ and if you are upgrading it costs only 29.90$

I would suggest to all of you to first try it and then if you still think its expensive...please post it here!

If you are purchasing through Handango the pages havent been updated with the correct pricing information.

Another update... I received a very nice email from John Psuik of Developer One sincerely apologizing for the initial curt reply from their customer service. He wanted to emphasize Developer One's commitment to pleasing their customers, and the updated upgrade policy, I believe, reflects that. So, kudos to Mr. Psuik! Due to the new upgrade policy, I went ahead and sprang for the combo pack upgrade. Even before this upgrade, CodeWallet was the most valued piece of software on my PPC, and now they've made some very nice improvements to it. :way to go:
