It appears that despite the fact that TomTom just released "TomTom Navigator 2004" on October 13th of 2004 they have now gone ahead and announced that "TomTom Navigator 5" is to be released in May 2005.

I had been specking out GPS systems for a long time and finally in January 2005 I decided to purchase the latest and greatest TomTom navigation system... v2004. Now, only 2 months after my purchase, I find that they are releasing a new and improved version, :bad-words: It has only been 5 months since they released v2004.

There is no official word on whether or not they will offer free software upgrades to recent purchasers like myself (I certainly hope so), according to the UK article TomTom can't decide themselves as they have changed their position several times already.

Maybe this new version will work with an HP 4705. Nav 2004 didn't.

just wondering, how much space do the maps for tom tom navigator 4 require? i have a 4gb microdrive for my hx4700 and i'm sure thats enough, just wondering how much space i will have left over for mp3's.

I am sure it depends on how many maps you load. I personally only load maps of my State and it takes only about 200 megs of space.

wow, 200mb for one state, for some reason i didnt think it would be that big.

is it just maps that you load, or POI also?
