Introducing the Lenovo ET960, with 312 MHz Intel PXA272, 64MB RAM, 64MB ROM, 1.3-Mpx Camera, Tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900), Bluetooth, GPRS. Those specifications are nothing extraordinary, but I did find one peculiar characteristic. This device is apparently outfitted with the WM 2003 Second Edition OS instead of PocketPC Phone Edition. Good or bad? I have no idea. What I do know is that you can find it at Expansys US for the amazing low price of $884.95! Yeah, I know I'm amazed. If you're a UK resident, you also have the option of purchasing this from Expansys UK with the Vodaphone connection which drops the price tag down to a meager £304.95 (~$550 USD)... or just buy it without the connection for £539.95 (~$970 USD).

I don't get it, why don't they just make it all black and slap on the ThinkPad label on the corner? Then it'd sell like hotcakes :D

Come to think of it, a sleek black ThinkPad-labeled VGA Pocket PC Phone Edition with IBM's vaunted R&D technology smarts... yum (O2 eat your heart out)! Forget Sony, I'd rather have IBM ThinkPad team jump on the Pocket PC bandwagon...

We just received our new ThinkPad T43 (Sonoma) and X40 in the last couple of weeks, they never fail to impress...

Or they could market it under the old IBM "Workpad" name like the Palm V.

Anyways...bigger and uglier that the i-mate JAM, with a slower processor and $200 more expensive. Plus the camera's on the front side, so you'll spend a lot of time shooting pictures of yourself. Who wouldn't want it?

The camera can be flipped over, rotated to the back.

It's pretty cool looking. However for the price, I would rather get the more feature rich i-Mate PDA2k.

$900~ is amazing, just not low. It is a cool looking device though. But it needs more memory and WiFi.

.... for over £500 SIM-free in the UK. Slow processor, 64MB memory and no WiFi - who'd buy it compared to the i-mates, qteks and XDAs?

(Not to mention the Jam users, of which I am one)

Or am I missing something?

I think they are missing something. The whole boat.

The ~$900 is a great price for this? I don't think so. I bought my iPaq h2210 (which just doesn't have camera and GSM/GPRS, but has stronger processor and CF slot) for ~$325. And it was more than year and half ago!
