Hey gang,

I just got a used 2.2gb Transcend Microdrive off ebay.

It mounts fine with a card reader in XP & W98.

It does not come up at all with my ipaq 3950 WM 2003.

I've tried using a regular CF jacket, a silver slider CF jacket, a PC card expansion pack plus jacket with an adapter. I've tried soft reseting, connecting the jacket & microdrive at the same time, one then the other, while unit is on, while unit is off, etc.

Neither the file explorer nor a trial version of Flash Format will see the microdrive.

I've also reformatted the drive on a PC in both FAT 32 and regular FAT a few times - no dice.

I do hear the drive spinning if that makes a difference.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Don't fall over yourselves trying to answer

The vendor mentioned he found a posting where someone said the could use a microdrive in 2002 - but when they upgraded to 2003 they could not.

To test that theory - I tried putting the drive in a silver slider sleeve on a 3150 I have - and it works like a charm.

So why on earth does WM2003 kill it? I also tried it on a Dell X50 and it would not mount on that either.
