As you might see from my other posts today, I have been having problems with my SD cards. What is the fastest one? I have a PNY 256mb card and it seems slow. Does it make a difference what you buy?

You can try ATP flash cards. They use Samsung SLC NAND flash technology which is supposed to be the fastest flash components in the industry. They are also very durable and longer lasting. I have a 1GB card from them.

I can testify that my ATP 1GB SD Card is much faster than my old card. I picked it because of this list (http://www.choirguy.com/memory.pdf). Check it out and make your own decisions.

My Silicon Power Ultima cards are rated at 45x. Obviously, they're not the fastest available in the market, but they still perform very well. They're well worth a look since they are backed with a lifetime warranty.

my local shop lists a 512mb Astone card that claims 66x speed.
Here's the link, but I don't think they do international orders:

The fastest SD slot in a current PDA can only transfer data at roughly 2 MB/s (or roughly 15x). So if you use your SD card only in your PDA there's no point in getting a faster one.

You can find write-speed benchmarks on our Web site:

I recently got a Sandisk 1 gb SD card for my new digital camera (Canon SD400) and decided to try it on my Ipaq 4155. It seems faster when browsing the internet (with MemMaid I have the IE cache folder on my SD card). That seems to work pretty quickly (pictures load quick, etc.) However, I tried to have Avantgo sync to the SD card, but it starts then goes really slow and then stops midway through (when saving updated web pages to the device.) Has anyone else had this problem with Avantgo when saving the info to an SD card?
