Unlike other solutions, no additional software if required on your Pocket PC to play back the video output. All the conversion and file handling is done using the speed and power of your main Windows PC improving quality and saving you time and money. The Pocket DVD Wizard software uses advanced compression techniques to fit a whole DVD on a memory card the size of a postage stamp. You can then play back the resulting movie file using the standard Windows Media Player already installed on your Pocket PC."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/wey-20050303-PocketDVDWizard.jpg" /><br /><br />For all you DVD/Pocket PC junkies, Pocket DVD Wizard has just been updated to Version 3.2. Would that be a 16M postage stamp or a 2G postage stamp? ;)

Others have mentioned this, but there are freeware ways to accomplish the same thing. Using SmartRipper to create a flat file of the DVD and PocketDivXEncoder to put it in a format viewable on a PDA allows an almost two step process. Assuming that you've purchased the DVD's, I think this solution beats a $28.95 software product hands down.

Of course, some people want to make pizza while others prefer ordering pizza. This product is obviously marketed for the latter.

Great suggestion, but if you're wanting to keep conversions down to just 1 application for the same great price, FREE, I highly recommend trying FairUse-Lite Edition. The lite-edition is free, but has a file size limit of 700 megs, which is it's "trial" feature for PC users, however for PocketPC users, 700 megs for only 1.5 hours is overkill, so we're not affected :)

With features like cropping, editing, subtitle positioning, 2-pass XviD encoding, and batch processing, it's in any multimedia-junkie's best interest to give FairUse a go.

As far as PocketDVD is concerned, it takes the "hassle" out of putting movies onto a PDA for people like my Dad, which isn't a bad thing. He's got money, and is just the sort of bloke to buy said software for that exact reason. Kudos.
