SanDisk announced plans to release 512 MB and 1 GB SD flash memory cards with built-in USB interfaces. The new cards will have a fold-out USB plug. Release date is supposed to be April 2005.

For PDAs with USB Host capability (e.g., Toshiba, Fujitsu/Siemens, ASUS) this could be good news.

But being that SanDisk's 2 GB SD flash cards were supposed to be released last November and they're still not available, we probably shouldn't hold our breaths.

Don't worry. I've queued up a front page post discussing a batch of new SD/USB cards.
