Any X50v owners, using Betaplayer 0.5, willing to do a little benchmark for me?

I'm looking for a VGA PPC to play my moviefiles, intended for TV viewing, directly without re-encoding. By intended for TV I mean 704x400 (for example) at high bitrates. The benchmarks on the Betaplayer AVI site are not entirely clear. For instance, what happens if movies need to be scaled and rotated?

The 2 PPCs I'm looking at are the X50v and the hx4700. I have the results for the Ipaq, and would like to compare to the Dell.

I took small parts of some movie files and sent them to a kind 4700 owner who benched them through Betaplayer 0.5.

If anone here who owns a X50v, running Betaplayer 0.5, is willing to bench these files for me, please let me know!

The files are 3 AVI's, of about 8MB each. I expect the Dell to be faster than the Ipaq so if this is too much we can limit the test to those that the Ipaq does not manage 100% on.

I can help you out too. DIVX plays wonderfully! I watch TV shows on it. They are 624x352 24fps 2.2Mbit/s and I get 170%.

I'm another volunteer, if needed. If you need, you can email the videos to [email protected] as I have plenty of room, and I can post them on my website for others to download if you can't find another distribution method.

The 3 movies are very short clips. One at 704 pixels, but at very high bitrates (there's a lot of motion in this title sequence and the bitrate is of course variable in these movies - the average rate is around 1200 for the entire movie), one is 720 pixels, at fairly high bitrates and one is 704 at more "normal" bitrates, but still a lot of motion. All these are really the "worst case" spots of movies, so it will be very interesting to see how they are handled.

If you bench these clips, could you please use Betaplayer 0.5 and activate the 2700g decoder. If possible save the benchmark results. Thanks!
