Scheduled for integration into mobile handsets and other portable devices beginning in March 2005, the DiBcom DIB7000(TM) digital TV chip features robust mobile DVB-T/H reception capability with ultra low- power consumption, providing an optimal integrated solution."</i><br /><br />I'm liking where this is going already. DiBcom claims that the digital TV technology will feature in mobile devices (phones included) soon, and the clarity of reception is supposedly excellent, with speeds touted at over 100 miles/hour. The 8x8mm chip operates at less than 25mW. Exciting stuff! :way to go:

I'm all for this. I've wanted the ability to chuck the pocket TV for awhile. When/if it does actually arrive in portable devices, I'll make full use of it. The fewer devices I have to carry with me while still having access to the technologies I love, the better.

I just helped a family member of mine purchase a Delphi MyFi, so as this technology is shrinking, so to speak, I'm also looking forward to the day XM tuners may be available for our portables as well.

Gotta love progress. :D
