Their last generation Bluespoon Chameleon headset was the smallest one we’ve seen, yet they managed to make even smaller and lighter Bluespoon headset. The Bluespoon AX, the 3rd generation wireless headset offered by Nextlink, has the latest Bluetooth wireless headset technology and sells for an affordable price.

Looking like a shrunk down version of the Chameleon, the Bluespoon AX comes in at only 1.5 inches in length and 0.35 oz. I've heard a lot about how small this new headset is, but it was hard for me to appreciate just how small until I saw that sweet comparison photo. If you're in the market for the smallest and lightest Bluetooth headset available, check out the nice review that Tong Zhang put together. Now if any of you happen to own this headset or managed to try one, let us know what you think!

I think it's great that PPCT has posted as many times as it has about these headsets. Nextlink has worked very hard to develop their products and they deserve the exposure, IMO. Their headsets really do have to be seen in person to fully appreciate just how small they are.

I bought and have used their Digital Bluespoon Gold and it's a great addition to my phone.

I haven't bought an AX yet, but with the DBS I have already, I've decided to hold off and to beta test their 5G instead, which is half the size and weight of the already tiny AX! Hard to believe.

I think Nextlink is a great company with great products and service - and I will always back up a company like them by recommending them when I can.

Long ago I'd bought three of the original Bluespoon analog model when it first came out (one of each color -- $266 each from Expansys as I recall). Almost all needed fixing after awhile. The nice Nextlink guy from HowardForums had told me to ship it in for free repair but I keep forgetting/delaying, argh :(

Recently bought three Bluespoon AX units, which are much cheaper (less than $80 from Pilcon, etc). Quite improved and hangs down lower on your cheek for better voice pickup (at the same time though, the original design was more "invisible" where its bulk was hidden within the confines of your ear). Still waiting for my new Blue Angel and ThinkPad orders to pair mine with though...

Anyways instead of getting the Bluespoon Digital I also want to wait for the Bluespoon 5G (which is also digital unless I'm mistaken??). It's the smallest yet by far, incredible :)

I have had this one for a while. I like i very much. It take s a little getting use to because it has to wedge in your ear to stay there properly.

Actually, the 5G is analog. They aren't able to miniaturize all the components enough that are needed in the digital, to be able to squeeze it into the 5G's housing. Certainly one day, they will. But not for now.

The 5G will be beta tested first by a group of us, and then will be availble to everyone else shortly after. My understanding is that Nextlink will only make 1000 5Gs available. But who knows? Maybe this number will change later on. It will also be very expensive (due to all the miniaturization) when it's finally released outside of beta - $400 USD.

But based on how well the AX has been performing, it's certainly a fantastic option for anyone searching for a very compact and inexpensive BT-enabled headset solution.

I really can't believe how small these things are getting. I guess I know what my next headset will be after my fiance steals my Jabra 250 that she recently put in her ear and found amazingly cool.

Think I should tell her she'd need to get a bluetooth phone to use it? :devilboy:

Damn, all I can say is that's a keeper of a girlfriend :D

My wife won't even touch my bluetooth headset or endulge me with any "that's cool" comments when I show her my tech toys. The only tech toy she likes is the iPaq h2215 I bought her a couple of years ago.

And yes, the Nextlink AX is small and it's one hell of a headset. Voice quality is outstanding and it fits so well in my ear that you don't even notice it in there. I seriously could wear one for hours on end without really noticing it. Also, you can cut back the rubberiezed spring thing to fit your ear. Highly reccomend it

Yep... I knew she was a geek at heart since I met her. Now if I can just get her to use that nice Viewsonic V36 I bought her a few years back for xmas...

I would never have known it myself if I hadn't seen the photo. As for the coverage, Nextlink is IMO the best BT headset maker that most people have never heard about. I've heard many positive things about their headsets (I was REALLY close once to buying their old G2 headset). It's also absolutely refreshing to know how service-oriented their reps are (as bitequator pointed out).

If they allow you to, get us some shots! ;)

At half the size of the AX, this thing has got to be smaller than most hearing aids!

You know, my girlfriend tried on my SE HBH-300 headset and actually made some phone calls with it last week. She looked so incredibly cool wearing it too! If she had taken my hx4700 and start jotting down notes, I probably would have passed out!

*sigh* one step at a time...

I agree.

Yeah, they did an amazing job from what I've seen so far. You can see a lot of great photos of the 5G right now along with one including the AX and DBS here (http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=80117). Scroll down the page to the 24th photo and you'll see how small the 5G is compared to a penny; then scroll down a bit further to the 41st photo, and you'll see a Digital, a 5G, and an AX, side by side, from left to right, respectively. All the photos are good, but for size reference, those particular two are the best, IMO.

Thanks for the link Pheonix. Those are some VERY cool pics!!

BTW, I noticed at the bottom of that linked post, there was another link to a completed eBay auction for that headset. Did you see the winning bid on the eBay auction for that item?!

Uhhh.... yeah... I can afford that and my fiancee will probably be ecstatic as well! :worried:

Actually, the 5G is analog.
Oh OK thanks for the correction Phoenix :)
