I can connect to my home wireless router via WiFi and I can reveive e-mails and browse the net but I can't send out e-mails. The inernet provider's server is smtp and it requires authentication but I don't know how to set this up in my e830; any suggestions?

With Messaging (ex-Inbox), you need to check the "Outgoing e-mail server requires authentication" checkbox on the second page of Options upon creating/editing an account.

It works even with Gmail.

If it doesn't work, then, you may not have the same username/password pair with the POP3 and the SMTP servers (this is the case with most situations where the incoming POP3 server has nothing to do with the outgoing one).
