Okay, you may know that some guy over MSMobiles.com...cough...has some opnions against MS MVPs (okay, hates'em)...well, yet another post about this:
http://www.msmobiles.com/news.php/3542.html
It's just...lame.

There's nothing new there. I think the comments responding to his post are what everyone's thinking; he spouts off these "MVPs are stoopid losers" articles now and then to inflate his ego. But we should stay away from this topic, as it's just flamebait.

Good advice. ;)

Everyone is entitled to their opinions... but as you say... this is a topic that everyone seems to have a strong opinion on... on either side of the fence...

And as you said... better left alone.

What's an MVP? :)

I've just noticed (after reading about this guy even on Niilo Paasivirta's great (some articles are even in English, they're really entertaining) homepage (http://www.co.jyu.fi/~np/)) that Jacek Rutkowski has removed one of his lamest articles (the old URL was http://msmobiles.com/finland/ and http://jpzr.com/finland/; neither of them are accessible any longer.)

However, the original article (full of racism and anti-Finnish propaganda) can still be found at http://www.tasnar.com/saruwine/finland.html .

BTW, Niilo Paasivirta's answer to Jacek Rutkowski can be found here (http://www.co.jyu.fi/~np/misc/guide_to_poland.html).[/u]

I'm very upset at MSMobiles. He didn't even mention my name. :worried: :deadhorse:

What surprises me the most is that we all like to say that we defend the right to free speech... yet when someone says something we do not like we openly attack him. The people have the right to their opinions... and we have the option not to read what he has to say...

So the question begs to be asked... why are you all visiting his site to read what he has to say if it upsets you all so much...?

Well, I don't read his news - I don't want to read his frustated stuff. Have gone there only once to make a generic search for "Finland". What I've found then was enough for me not to return to his site.

It was only by mistake that I've run into his name over at MBNet (the page of a Finnish computer mag) at http://www.mbnet.fi/jutut/uutiset/index.asp?Uutinen=996 . This is why I checked his article (I haven't read it before).

He was kicked in the ass at Nokia because he was simply incompetent (still, he is complaining of "racism against Eastern-European professionals") - since then, he has been spreading false, racist propaganda about Finland and Finns. And VIP's, before I forget.

He may have big problems in his life...

I think we keep peaking because we all know that a clock that is broken is still right twice a day. We just need to remember not to get too upset when it's wrong the rest of the time.

I like reading my name on the web and the only way I could do it this time was to go through one of his links. Anyway I think he can say what he wants about me as long as he spells the name right.

It's like a badge of honor to be his sh*t list. It means you're doing something right. :devilboy:

Sometimes it's just good to be reminded that some things don't change. I've been around various boards with folks like Sven and Bobby for many years (before they were MVPs) and I've come to know the MVPs here at PPCT from behind the scenes. My experiences combined with just reading the latest MVP-bashing post gives me more and more confidence each day that the right people are indeed getting recognized.

Supporting free speech does not require agreeing with everything that is said. It is also free speech to say that you disagree.

He was doing quite well too. Sounded quite reasonable in a number of recent posts (and he certainly seems to have changed his mind about Jason...!). Ah well.

I had cause to read his MVP list recently - I was on the PalmInfoCenter boards (don't ask... *shudder*) and noticed that the infamous Mike Cane was using the MSMobiles list to justify his belief that the PPC community is run by Microsoft shills (good choice of evidence there!). The list has, at least, been made just a little bit less vindictive than it was. Perhaps there is hope...!?

Funny: the guy bans everyone from the msmobile forums that questions his extremist views about Finland/Finns. I've received this:

Aihe you have been banned
Viesti: sorry but due to personal attacks and lies that you practiced at
http://msmobiles.com/f you have been banned from there.

BTW: he was not fired due to incompetence (it was not mentioned on the paper
from Nokia as a reason) and Kekkoen (pro-Soviet left-wing leader) was ruling
Finland for over 30 years so Finland was socialist for over 30 years.
Finland is also located 500 km east of Germany so it is East European
country.

I can unban you only if you will promise to stop personal attacks and
restrict your comments to topics about Windows Mobile.

Funny guy. Doesn't know the difference "having a social democrat, democratic government/president" (the case of Finland during the Cold War) and "being under Soviet oppression" (the case of the Communist Block, incl. Poland) :) It's like comparing apples and oranges.

(Furthermore, I don't think any employer explicitly states on any official paper that dismissing a former employee happened because of his/her incompetence.)
