Cleartype and Landscape Mode (WM2003SE)

I'm using a HP iPaq 2750. Whenever I switch to landscape mode using WM2003SE's native support for it, I notice that Cleartype in the OS as well as in PIE gets turned off. However, in 3rd party apps like Laridian PocketBible, and AvantGo, Cleartype is still active. Is this a bug in WM2003SE? Is there any way to force Cleartype on, even in landscape mode?
