Hello-

I'm looking for a Bluetooth receiver to connect to the aux-in of my car (Honda Pilot). I can tear apart a set of BT headphones, but was hoping for a more straightforward solution. Is there anything out there that comes at a reasonable price?

I don't need a mic. This is just to listen to music through the stereo.

Maybe someone else will post with the real answer. But if they don't, here's some information I've collected. I keep hoping for the same thing so I can play my iPAQ through my stereo across the room while docked next to my computer. I am not aware of the "final" solution, but here are some pointers to some sites that are on the right track.

Naviplay is both halves for the iPod, andis based on the Impulsesoft technology (see below)

And here are links to the reference designs used in these products.

(look for the product called iWISA)

Thanks for the pointers. A few comments on them (I found some of them as well) to keep this dialog going:

iWISA is a tx-only.
The BT460EX and the Naviplay stuff is way too expensive. The solution should not be any more expensive than a cheap pair of BT headphones.

It's surprising nothing is availble yet... I'm considering building something myself with one of the chipsets. I wonder how many folks would buy something like this.

What's the cheapest you've seen for stereo headphones (no mic) ?

BT although not "new" will still cost a pretty penny since it is not mainstream and manufactures of device that normally don't have any form of wireless technology see is as "new" and will charge as such. They also see it as a way to bolster their revene since there is virtually no one offering the same thing. What is very sad is how long its taking BT and other technologies to be put into devices that should (by now at least) have it, such as a car radio so one can connect their phone wirelessly and use it in handsfree mode. Another example is an MP3 player I saw on a show made for a car. You take the HDD out burn your music from your PC and put it back the car. It holds up to 10,000 songs but it is expensive. I would rather by the Apple iPhoto (60GB) :D and do the same plus I can take it with me and finish listening to my music as I walk down the block.

On another thread, I mention the Parrot CK3300. It's a nice device. I think I'm going to pick one up and give it a try. It seems to integrate everything I'm looking for in something that comes at a fairly reasonable price.
