Only if it can be used with BT headphones. What good is this thing if I still have wires coming out of my headphones?

I use bluetooth device so that I don't have wires dangling from my head.....so the point of this with the wires is what?
I think HP has the best design thus far and right out of the chute.

Actually, as long as they supplement the thing w/ A2DP profiles to be loaded into Pocket PCs, that'd be great! And actually, this design might be more robust. From what I've heard from other sources, the headband for the HP BT Stereo ones snap or lose their tension very easily. Not to mention, this clips to your shirt, belt, etc so that you don't have to run a wire into your briefcase/backpack/laptop bag. What would be nice is if this thing also has integrated controls like the HP/Logitech headphones.

Actually, if you look close, I think you can swap 'em out for a different pair of your liking, if I'm not mistaken.

Anybody know if
Bluetooth for Windows CE
BT-PPC Version 1.5.0 Build 2600
Is compatible with the Bluetooth specification v1.2 or is this another HP only deal?

But where do we get the Bluetooth drivers for A2DP for our laptops and PPCs :?:

I have one of these for cellphone use only. A single earbud, and no A2DP stereo profile. For me it is great. I don't have the geek look that allows me to where a BT headset throughout the day, nor do I want to. So, this setup works very well. Plus I hate having things stuck in my ear for very long. I can clip it to my shirt, and hang the earbud on it, then when the phone rings I just grab the bud and stick it in my ear. It is very handy, and it was cheap. It is not awkward with the short wire and it isn't connected to something else to cause a hassle in handling it.

I think the idea behind this for stereo use is for all those people who don't like headphones, and prefer earbuds. This works very well for that purpose.

I'm just guessing but I'll bet that the second bud being able to unplug is so you can use it with a single bud with a cellphone. I would imagine that the second bud only has one channel, so plugging headphones into it wouldn't work very well. ;)

Ehemm... Did anyone say how much it costs or will cost. I prefer the intrusive earbuds that fit snuggly in my ear and reduce external noise.

Dave, do you have one of these or similar ones like the Sony Ericsson ones. If these, where'd you get them? The company has an interesting one that is designed to go from an MP3 player to headphones/earbuds, that has a BT box in the middle of the cord so you can take a phone call from a BT phone. That's kind of interesting.

Hey Sven, how are you bud?

No that isn't the one I have.

Where is the microphone? Is it at the junction where you plug in the second ear bud, or on the clip with the battery, or what? The product page gives no information about this.

Actually, look even closer. As Dave points out above, it looks like only ONE of the earbuds unplug. I would like to have seen this where you could replace the entire "headset" piece with one of you liking, including a single "bud" design.

Honestly, if I have wires running to the CLIP I might as well have them plugged into the device. I don't know what the excitement is all about. I think HP is onto something with their wireless headset.

wireless headset.

Opposed to wireless earbuds. Just a different option. Maybe not as popular as Headphones, but for some folks it's just the ticket. ;)

Oh, so same company, just a different model. I think these are great. I'm like Dave, I don't really like the hang-on-the-ear BT Blobs, but I don't really want a cable draping across to my shirt or pants pocket. Can't wear the eVest with the PAN channels all the time ;) Folks that wear glasses have a tougher time with the standard BT headsets too. The mic is in the clip for those that asked. You can get a lot of info at the site if you open up their manual pdfs.

Thanks for the expansys link, Dave, gives me hope that these things actually exist. We get so many if this sort of thing from manufacturers, just looking for a vendor to sell it.

As long as they don't come bundled with a virual keyboard, I think we'll be ok. :-)

What I have been looking for is a bluetooth gamepad for my tablet pc. I do video game graphics, tah would be invaluable to me at meetings.
Do you guys know of one?

I dont get it... I've seen the Sony Ericsson ones for a while now, but I never got why you would want to have wireless headphones with wires? The biggest problem is the the wires get cought on my shirt or jacket collar. This is why Logitechs design is best for me (HP and Toshiba license the Logitech Bluetooth Heaphones).

Only if you can hack the cable. If you look, they are using a mono plug. Each ear has it's own plug.

I like the way tou think though. I already have a good pair of Sennhiesers and I would love to have them be bluetooth with a light dongle so I can roam the room and my mp3 player, iPod, computer or pocjketpc can stay put.

hmmm... I see a lot of people are turning it down because of the wires. The thing is, it's not like it has wires dangling all over your body. Wires are short that goes from your ear to your shirt. I had the same one that Dave has and been using it for almost a year now. "For me", it is way much better than those things that clips to your ear because it doesn't add weight, and in turn, that feeling of unconfortableness also (is that a valid word?). I tried comparing this things against those Jabra BT headset already and "for me", this is way better.

That's just my opinion though.

The problem was always that i would keep my mp3 player or PDA in my inside jacket pocket when commuting. If the cable was too long, it would dangle and get caught on things, if the cable was too short it would yank the earbuds out when i turn my head. So the HP bluetooth headphones are best for me.

I dunno where other ppl are coming from but, I have one of those $100 etymolics and would be sure nice to be untethered to my device. I'm willing to sacrifice a few wires for the isolation and quality of my earbuds. I like earbuds because it helps isolate me from the crazy people who get on the bus and tAlk to themselves, or extra LOUD, and kids on my route. :?

That's my $50 on the topic

I might have to give these a looksee instead of the HP one!

The cables on my BT headset is not too long nor not too short :-) Doesn't fall off when I'm turning my heads (which I do a lot when people comes to me for money) :-)

Off topic but... people mistaken this baby as my phone. Whenever they see me talking to this, they usually ask me afterwards... "how the heck you dial a number from there?". I couldn't help laughing after that.

This product sounds great! Somebody said that you can swap the earbuds to your own favorite earbuds. Does anybody know if it takes 2.5mm or 3.5mm earbuds? Also does anybody know where I can buy the new model and find out more info? Thanks, Gordon

Hmm... will this let me listen to MP3s *in stereo* wirelessly on my JAM/Mini?

If so, I'm getting this thing as soon as it's available!

Is it technically possible for a stereo music stream to be piped correctly via two physically separate Bluetooth earbud units (where each unit has its own Bluetooth transceiver, and each unit would play a different channel of the stereo stream)? Or would this require some new profile or even a new paradigm of operation?

Something like the upcoming Bluespoon 5G on the right ear, then a companion unit for the left ear without the microphone. If you don't use the companion unit, then the main unit should intelligently switch mode where both channels of a stereo music would just pipe into the main unit.

I mention the 5G because -- have you seen how small this darn thing is?

If all you need is stereo headphones (and not the microphone), consider the HP Bluetooth headphone set:
