Hello Ladies gentleman, I just placed my order for the 4700 :D.

I have a few questions for the expiranced users:
1. Must have items?

2. Must have software?

3. Cool things to do when she arrives?

4. Care and protection?

PS, i still have my 3635, and everytime i look at the dust behind the screen i still cry :(

Software:

Tweaks2K2.net
Memaid
Magic Button - Free
Betaplayer - Free
RESCO Explorer

If you do a lot of web browsing: Netfront 3.1

If you plan to use an external keyboard: Zenokeyboard - Free

Hardware

Case - SENA is good value for price, but many others around.
Think Outside BT Keyboard & mouse

Then Friday you can get...

Well, you don't necessarily need it: http://discussion.brighthand.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=110455

If you try to manually hack all your programs that put shared DLL's in main memory, you can get by with 64M RAM too, even if you install tons of apps on your hx4700.

Ok
this is going to be included in next version of Tweaks2k2

Open the registry and look this key

HKCU\Software\Ilium Software\DockWare

Change the BitmapDir from \My Documents\My Pictures to any the path of your pictures in the SD card or CF Card, in this way you are saving RAM space while having more space to copy more pictures.

In my case, I changed to \SD Card\My Documents\My Pictures

Im confused on this one....where is the REGISTRY folder?

riuster,

The PPC Techs upgrade is $199.00. Not cheap, but I thought it was worth it.

The Pocket PC OS won't let you into the registry with the built in file manager. It's kind of like a safety barrier as you can do some serious damage if you screw up the registry. Thatsaid, there are a lot of pocket PC registry editors available for download-many of them free-and RESCO File Manager includes a registry editor.

There's no registry folder - the Windows registry has nothing to do with the file system (just like WinCE databases).

You'll need to get Resco Explorer ( http://www.resco-net.com/explorer_indepth.asp ) or, alternatively, the free PHM Regedit ( http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/ ) to edit the Registry.

If you're unsure about using these programs, feel free to ask.
