Software updates

Is there a single location that is good for keeping me updated on ROM updates and other essential updates?

Info on ROM updates are kept on the website of the manufacture of the PPC in question. If its a Dell, HP, Toshiba, etc. go to their site and you can look it up.

Well, I don't know of a single source for all things PPC, but this site comes pretty close. I usually watch the Software forum as well as the forum for my hardware. Of course I check the manufacturer's site a few times a month, too.

As far as software on my PPC, I usually just check the developer's site every once in a while. If they don't have a site I just go to the vendor's site I purchased it from. Updates are pretty random, some are updated a lot more than others but you don't always have to update everytime a new version comes out. You can skip one or two unless you are having problems the update solves or major improvements have been made.
