I have just purchased [12/20/2004]a refurbished HP iPAQ H2215 Pocket PC, Not Cheep ($310.00),but it came with no user manual, the file it has on the CD for geting started is no help. Called HP, they said I no longer has warenty on it, thefore they cannot help.

I would like to down load MPF files from my desk top and play it on my PDA. I have no idea how do this, I wonder if any one can offer me some help as to how work this out.

Thank you.

Don't worry about it: the manuals don't tend to tell you much beyond very basic usage. "MPF" isn't a file format for any of the built-in apps, so wouldn't be covered there.

You came to the right place.

I'm gonna take a longshot here and guess that you meant "MPG" -- an MPEG movie file. ('Cause I've no idea what an MPF is.) There's an excellent application called BetaPlayer that will open a lot of different video files. It's constantly being updated to include more codecs and filetypes. It's the best thing in its class, yet somehow it's still free.

Head on over here to get your copy:

What is/are MPF files (format?). You can get all the manuals for the 2215 at HP under support. Go to support and search for ipaq 2215. The link is long but here it is

My Pocket OC came with Windows Media Player 9 Series. for now I want to play music only. I want to know the files I am hope to down load should be in what format? The one sample file in the Media Player 9 series is in *wma extention, the one I downladed has cda extention.

I have already looked at the one at the HP site, it is no help.

Windows Media player on the PPC plays wma (windows media audio) and mp3 audio files and wmv (windows media video) files. cda is CD Audio. it is the file format on an audio CD playable by a standard CD player, car/home. MP on the PC can play that, the PPC cannot. It is also large.

You will need to convert, or rip, CDs into either mp3 or wma to play it in MP on the PPC.

The manual may not seem useful, but it does say MP9 plays windows media audio and video files and mp3s. (page 1-4). I think you will find that same manual on the CD BTW.
