I posted this somewhere else and did not get a big list of suggestions.

I am looking for a way to have a predesigned form which I would open and use on my DellPocketpc(s).
The form would have dropdown boxes and text boxes and would also be able to be printed (eventually).

Anyway I know with Adobe I can create a pdf form and then load the form in my pocketpc with Adobereader although I can not get this to work. So I am looking for other ways/software which would let me create a form in my desktop and then use the form in my companies pocketpc's.
any suggestions?

thanks

You might look into XSForms (http://www.grandasoft.com/default.aspx) by Grandasoft. It's free. To be completely honest, I downloaded it and then couldn't find a use for it, but I don't do much data collection as a home user, so....

Also, another program I checked into a while back is DBFormGen (http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=412). The original site has gone down, though there is some info about it here (http://www.smartcomputing.com/editorial/article.asp?article=articles%2Farchive%2Fg0905%2F60g05%2F60g05.asp&guid=&searchtype=&WordList=) and here (http://www.pocketpcskins.com/jsadoce.html).

Hope that helps!

I have tried several database apps and Sprint DB Pro+Printing has worked the best for me. You can develop forms/apps using their desktop companion and then import the forms to the PPC or share data with an existing MS Access database and develop the forms either on the desktop companion or right on the PPC. After the forms are created they are saved in a file which can be copied/transferred to other PPC's. You can also print directly from a PPC using this application.

XS Forms is interesting (and free) but it is really designed for collecting a batch of data and then dumping it one time into a database or spreadsheet.

With Sprint DB I share several tables worth of data between my desktop (running a custom MS Access application) and my PPC. Data gets synced up each time I dock. It's a pretty friendly app and you can get by with limited development skills. You can create lookup lists, dropdown lists, text boxes, calculated, fields, etc. There is basically no limit. The PPC app is $29.95 and I think the desktop companion (I don't use it) is another $19.95 or $29.95. Not bad for what it can do.
