How's the screen on this unit? As good as the ol' 5450, in that it can be seen clearly under direct sunlight?

Oh, yes. The PiN has one of the best screens I've ever seen. Very bright and clear in all lights and no yellowing. I love it!

A new Fry's store opened right by my house. The grand opening is today (but the sale prices are supposedly good at all Fry's stores in town). They have the Navman PiN for $299, is this a great deal or is it too outdated now (a few months later)? No BT/Wi-Fi, does not have WM2003 SE, and I don't see any mention on the box about the supposedly new v3 of the SmartST software that was mentioned in another thread (so I assume it has the older SmartST v2)?

They also have the Palm IIIe for 10 bucks. I did not take it

And the Tapwave Zodiac 2 with 4 free games for $349...

And the Nintendo DS for $99 (which I impulsively snagged even though I just bought the Sony PSP).
