The complete review has been split into four parts and is finally finished. You can access each of the sections from here: <br /><br /><a href="http://www.tekguru.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4439">PART I - The Externals</a> <br /><a href="http://www.tekguru.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4524">PART II - The Internal Applications</a> <br /><a href="http://www.tekguru.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4595">PART III - Of Benchmarks and Batteries</a> <br /><a href="http://www.tekguru.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=29762">PART IV - Final Comments and Conclusions</a>"<br /><br />Well, this is certainly one of the longest LOOX 720 reviews I've seen. You want a detailed overview &amp; exposition with bucketload of screenshots and photos? They've got them along with benchmarks, charts and an offer to get £10 off a LOOX 720. I'd say it was definitely worth a visit to Tekguru to get better acquainted with this understated member of the Pocket PC family.

The review is cool, but suffers from the same as all the other PL720 reviews: it doesn't really compare the machine's screen, Wi-Fi sensitivity, stability etc. to other, current VGA PPC's. I speak of, for example, screenshots like the following: http://www.firstloox.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2607

Fair, but harsh. Most sites don't have the cash to buy multiple machines to review &amp; OEMs don't exactly hand round review models like candy. It would be good to compare them, but you can see why there are not too many comparative reviews. Not everyone has£1400 to buy four new VGA PPCs. :?

One thing I really like about Daron's (Tekguru) reviews is his extremely methodical approach - it shows that he has an engineer's sensibilities...!

Yeah, I know. I also know (speaking of OEM's) of HP's censorship initiative (meaning: no OEM devices are given to the given mag if the fora/articles are not censored about HP's future machines. One of my articles, posted initially to a non-English PPC mag has also been censored by HP...). And I know how hard it is to loan more than one VGA devices for a test (I have a PL720 and just trying to get a hx4700 so that a decent screen / Wi-Fi comparison could be published). However, there may be tons of local readers of all PPC mags that would be more than happy to loan their gadgets to the mag for free, so that the review can have direct comparisons too, which is advantageous for all readers.

BTW, the review is objective with tons of stuff. More objective than that of, say, PDAGold (http://www.pdagold.com/articles/detail.asp?a=211) because of PDAGold's quite inconsistent rating (check out the related topic, http://www.pdagold.com/forums/view_topic.asp?t=4787, at PDAGold to see what I mean).

Well if you wanted a comparative review all you had to do was ask on TG. Until yesterday I did have both machines on site and could have compared the LOOX 720 against the iPAQ 4700.

If you want to post any queries in the review thread about the two machines I'll gladly comment on TG but it will be from memory (this is not to take posts away from 'Thoughts', but as it appertains to my reviews and opinions thats where the comments from me belong) IMHO :)
