We just purchase a Pocket PC with Microsoft's 2003 Pocket PC for Windows Second edition on it and they have changed the Transcriber to version 2.0. In Version 2.0 you still have 3 modes, Alpha, Uppercase and Numeric mode, but if you try to use the Uppercase or Numeric mode, the Transcriber automatically changes the Recognition Mode back to Alpha mode. Which is totally crazy. We use Pocket PCs to take inventory, so we are only using numbers. The standard Pocket PC for Windows 2003 worked great. When you put the Transcriber version 1.5 into numeric mode it stayed in numeric mode.

The new Transcriber does not function properly. Why even give us three options when the Transcriber is going to switch back to Alpha mode anyway.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem or is Microsoft going to have to fix it?

thanks
Jeff
