I am trying to find an older version of eReader that will work with Tweaks2k2 to display properly in standard VGA mode. I couldn't get the current version, 2.5.2 to work for me. (I don't want to use SE_VGA as it makes the text too small for my eye.) As I understand it, version 2.4.1 worked just fine with Tweaks2k2. Anyone know where I could find a copy of this older version? Please PM me if you can help.

Thanks!

You can get a version from here (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/jonathan.keating/PalmReaderPocketPC241.zip)

It is a pro version on a 20 day demo, if you don't have a pro key when it expires then it goes back to the standard features.

Please note admins this program was a free download from a big freeware/shareware download site (forgotten the name) and is not illegal or anything. ;)

I use this version on my 4700 and it works great

I just bought a Dell x50v and downloaded the latest version of eReader from my bookshelf. It works GREAT. No problems at all. That was my main concern with this PPC and was nothing to worry about.

I set the font to 12 and it's just right.

Does the print appear in VGA or QVGA? Most versions of eReader were subject to pixel doubling unless you used SE_VGA/OzVGA.

QVGA. And it doesn't support forced VGA mode either - the menu / text char sizes becomre extremely big. DLL renaming tricks (described in connection with Netfront 3.1) don't work either.

BTW, the discussion of how it can be completely removed from the PDA can be found at http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=36361

EDIT: it still does pixel doubling. Very ugly on a VGA machine in SE QVGA mode. Works great in native VGA mode, however.

I have no clue if it's in QVGA or VGA, but it's easier to read than it was on my iPAQ 5555, the pages turn fine, etc.

I'm just extremely grateful that it works! I have lots of $ invested in eReader books.

I found this thread (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2824) quite helpful with eReader 2.41 (apparantly the best version for VGA-devices) and a DLL hack to make it VGA-aware.

Yup, it's using an earlier version, 2.4.1, which doesn't interfere in WM2003SE. This is why the forced VGA (Hi-Res resource) hack is working with it.
