Why don't you start with iTask.

How is Wisbar not compatible? Are you talking about the original Wisbar or the version by Lakeridge Software (Wisbar Advance 1.x or 2.x)?

Alternatively, Spb Pocket Plus lets you close programs.

I went to the webpage featuring the newest 'free' version and it clearly states not compatible with WM2003 2. If you could post a link, that would be great.

Lakeridge Software: http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/

The free version is Wisbar Advance 1.3.2.2

Please Note!

This version of WisBar Advance is NOT compatible with Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition devices.

That is a cut and paste from their page. Maybe its one of those situations where they say it doesn't work, but it really does?

Maybe I'll spring for the $10. I'm using Magic Button right now. Not sure I like it.

Well, Magic Button is freeware so if you feel as though it does the job well, I'd stick with it. Of course, there are a number of other free alternatives out there. This (http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/utilities_taskmanagers.shtml) page may be of interest to you if you're looking for free task managers - some haven't been updated in a while; some have.

Otherwise, if you're willing to pay for it, there are a lot of good applications out there. Among some of my recommendations are Wisbar Advance 2.x or Spb Pocket Plus.

Gotta go with magic button too.
My 4700 doesn't like WA2 either, I used HandyTask for a while but with that installed, there was long stalls after closing some apps. The latest SPB P+ doesn't even display a close dialog.
Finally, magic button from trancreative; does it all fast, elegant and free.

vBar has just been updated to support WM2003SE and VGA. You can get more information here (http://www.vieka.com/vbar.htm).
