I received an email from BestBuy.com Sunday morning about a new software program, Entertainment Connection Media Manager. (http://www.entertainmentconnection.com) It looks like it will be one interface to download music, movies, transfer photos, and more.

The installation ActiveX states: "Use any of several ways to look at the files that were imported. This will include audio, video, and photo files. You can select any files and play them by pressing the play button (much like a DVD player)."

And..."Print at Best Buy lets you select photos and magically upload them to Best Buy's professional quality printing labs, then have them mailed back to you or pick them up in a store near you."

Last Sunday, I installed Entertainment Connection, as it is called. It installed with ActiveX, so I had to move over to IE to launch that. One thing I do NOT like at all is how it takes you through the entire installation basically hitting "Next" for you, once you accept the license. I saw for a second that I could chose the installation directory - but it hit next and submitted that automatically - the same for file associations. Now many of my media files open with this Entertainment Connection. I realize this is beta software, but that is not a smart move playing with my file associations. :bad-words:

When I first saw the concept of this program, I thought I'd like it. Now it reminds me of some overblown AOL software. I have no uninstalled the program.

Anyone want to give it a further try? Maybe it is good, but I think I'll stick with WMP to transfer media files to different devices.
