The link at the top of the page does not seem to work....

It did work when I made the post. I think the affiliate link is down. Try it in a few minutes. If it still doesn't work then, I'll see what's gone wrong.

UPDATE: Okay, sorry folks, there's nothing wrong with the link but the server that handles this seems to have gone on a coffee break. It's out of our control so we can't do anything about it. In the meantime, have a snoop around the other forums on PPCT and once the server has decided to come back from its coffee break, I'll keep you all posted. ;)

NEW UPDATE: Okay, it works fine now.

Great! I tried this for a few days before my 4705 went in for service, and liked everything I saw. Great product, and now there's an update for it! I'm sold. :D Thanks for the news about it.

This is a really nice product with great potential, I tried a couple of the betas. You can customize everything!!!!

That being said, I am still going to stick with WeatherPanel for now. I think it is just a personal apperance preference for me, I like the clean not cluttered look of WeatherPanel over PocketWeather. I will still probably download the new release and try it out, so you never now...

Okay, things are fixed. So for those of you who had problems with the link, it should be up and running again.

I find that Journal Bar does the job, despite displaying a maximum of only 2 cities at any one time (which seems sufficient, unless you travel a huge amount or extensively track the weather around your extended family).
It also downloads news and other links, and is completely customizable.
I seem to remember it being around $10 when I bought it, don't know the cost now.

For me, my Today screen spacing (the and programs on it) are very carefully chosen, and constantly re-evaluated. Thus, I just wanted to point out another program that ably fills the "what is my weather" space on my screen.....

This is a great app. I'm going to buy it.

Definitely a nice app.

It is only a 1.0 product so won't have all the bells and whistles of the other competitors.

Gradually I predict this app will gain and gain more attractive features and grow into a more fierce competitor.

I'll probably buy this app.. it's definitely good for what I'm looking for.

I had the pleasure of beta testing this and the feature that impressed me the most was the ability to automatically download up to three maps per city from any weather site you choose. All you have to do is point to the actual picture on the weather site once and you'll always have it.

That feature alone makes it well worth the price for me. Most of the features are available in other programs and today applets (eg Stocks and Weather Today).

The author switched development of the program from freeware to a commercial product in much the same fashion as Wisbar Advance 2, and IMO this has helped the product immensely and provides plenty of encouragment for the author to improve the program.

How do you get the 15% discount? Is there a promo code? Thanks. S

It's only for people who have subscribed to this site. It's quite worth it when you factor in the discounts in software you get.

Does this function as a standalone app. ie, not solely as a today plugin?

I tried WorldMate for weather information a while back but ultimately ended up disabling the Today plugin because I needed the space for other stuff. As it is now, I have my screen maxed out with Date, Owner Info, PocketBreeze (or Calendar, Tasks, Inbox instead of PB depending on my mood) and Pocket Plus, and I use Weather Info (http://s-church.net/otherprojects.htm) for "Weather Info".

Do is it work well in VGA? Could somebody post a screenshot? I've got a loox 720 on order.

It works on my X50v. It could be improved - I'd like different configurations for Landscape/Portrait normal VGA and Landscape/Portrait SE_VGA, but that could be said for almost every program I have.

It's an excellent app, and it seems to work more constantly (getting updates) than the weather function in TodayPlus I have on my X5.

The current version of Journal Bar (v3.1.1) supports up to 14 weather locations.

I have been a user since Today Weather used to be a freeware under Adrian before SBSH came in. Its nice to see the program evolved to what is it today.

The great thing about this program is you can delete or add cities that you want unlike some other program which hard codes the city into the program.

Hmm...I actually had been using WeatherPanel. PocketWeather seems like a more powerful program, but the one thing that bugs me is the Today Screen plugin alignment. The text starts immediately to the right of the "gear" icon - much less space than there should be to align with other today screen plugins.

It's configurable, so the little gear icon is optional. You can have the text starting immediately from the left of the screen.

There should be a center option if you don't use the config. icon.

Dunno about Upper Arlington but with Golden, if you ditch the settings button the edge of the weather icons lines up perfectly with all the Today items text.

Here's (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/media/users/12845/PWwith.png) what it looks like with the icon, and here's (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/media/users/12845/PWwithout.png) what it looks like without.

Have you tried altering the spacing between the text and the icons? There are a set of options in the settings page that allow you to do so.

If you will set the icons size a bit smaller you will also get the fifth forecast day, and then it will also be aligned perfectly in the middle :D

Pretty much as it is on the middle screenshot on this picture:

If you will set the icons size a bit smaller you will also get the fifth forecast day, and then it will also be aligned perfectly in the middle :DAh, that looks better. Apparently once you change the icon size from 60 to something else (50 in my case), that doesn't save on the config. - Meaning the next time I launch the config, it's back at 60.

Just minor problems. Overall a great program. :D

Hi - you are correct - PocketWeather left aligns itself as far as it possibly can go maximise the amount of space for displaying the weather stuff. But if it want it to align itself with the other today screen items, it does not work.

Will add an option to allow that changing the padding from the left.

The icon size always reverts back to the actual icon size - that field should really be read-only as it is just telling you their actual size.
