hey i have ipaq h4150 with 1gig sd card
wondering if its possible to play svcd/mpeg2 wihtout conversion
betplayer works but only sound the video is scrambled

You might try PocketTV, but I doubt that it will work. SVCDs are program streams, similar to DVDs, rather than plain MPEG video streams, and I don't think any of the existing players know how to deal with the extra information. If you just mean SVCD class MPEG-2s, you might have a shot. Also, the high bitrate of an SVCD would probably choke all but the newest processors.

SVCD's probably do not work, as those are MPEG2 files.
Normal VCD's should play.

Find the biggest file on the disk, copy it over to your desktop computer, and change the file extension from .dat to .mpg
that should do the trick.

SVCD's won't work very well because they're 480 x 480 in resolution, which even on a VGA Pocket PC with a graphics accelerator (X50v) would result in a lot of wasted screen space.
