Neoprene lining, 360° swivel belt clip (easy to install and remove) are also added to make our cases unique, stylish, handy and innovative."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/wey-20041107-hx4700Case.jpg" /><br /><br />Do you have an HP iPAQ hx4700 but lack a metal case for it? This may be the case you've been looking for.<br /><br />Built from anodized aluminium, this case is designed to be roughly treated. Some features include a lightweight design, space for your memory cards, and cut-outs for the slots, headphone jack, stylus and IR port. At $30.99, this may be a viable investment if you're after a product designed to keep your "baby" nurtured. So for those of you who own an hx4700, does this appeal to you? ;)

not really - I have gone for the red and black Sena case - now that is classy

do you know if you can keep the plastic flip cover on the 4705 whilst it is in the aluminum case?

...cut-outs for the slots, camera, headphone jack, stylus and IR port. This is the second time I've seen "camera" in a hx4700 series product description. What are they talking about? I'm pretty sure my 4705 doesn't have a camera. Any ideas? Am I missing something?

Not sure if I'd like an aluminum case. I'm still in the market for a case for my 4705, but I don't think this is the one for me.

:bangin: I knew something about that website didn't sound right.

I'm going to edit the initial post right now! Strangely though, the case does have a cutout for a camera...

How odd... :?

You know what it probably is... A lot of people just assume that the hx4705 has a camera since it's the next model up from the hx3715.

But I would have hoped companies would have actually checked the specs, or heaven-forbid -- gotten the actual device, before they develop the case.

Not something I like to see in accessories for my gadgets. :worried:

No extra camera holes. Just a typo.

I like it as well as my previous Innopocket case for my E750.

Just got mine yesterday morning from cases.com (3 days from CO to Northern Ireland not too bad at all). This is a really nice Aluminium case, it feels better than the Proporta Aluminium case I had for my 2210 and it also has the advantage of a belt clip.

So far very impressed with the case.

Bah. Titanium or nothing. Aluminium dents too easily.

Check the specs, sure. But in terms of getting a device, you have to realize that most places have months of work and prep time to get the materials, molds/plans to make the cases. And when they can't even get a plastic dummy from the OEM, case companies have to wait until the product is on the market to buy...that's why quite often we don't see cases until 60-90 days after the product comes out on the market. So it's not quite as easy as you might think. ;-) I've had case companies email me and ask me to measure things for them because I got the device before they did...

Titanium is SO sweet....

Completely OT, but if you dig Titanium, check this out:

does having an aluminum case affect (negatively or positively) the WiFi or BT signal strength of a device which has internal antennae?

Ok this Camera thing is interesting... I have a hole in the back of my Hx4700 that clearly looks like it should have camera in it. I'll bet it was in the plans or is in the plans to have one in the next release..

I'll bet it was in the plans or is in the plans to have one in the next release..Actually, I think that just covers one of the screws needed to hold the device together. They cover it so if you try to open the device (or have a company, like PPCTechs, service it), they can tell you've voided your warrenty.
