I have an hx4705 that I would like to use with my Linksys router at home. I have turned on the WiFi, and the device seems to recognize my router, but I can't get out to the internet. Can someone please tell me what I'm missing? Perhaps there's a tutorial I can read?

Gee, I have an hx4700 and its connected to my Linksys 802.11g (connected at 802.11b of course) Router right now. I had no problem connecting the first time. I also easily conected to my brother's Linksys 803.11g Access Point and multiple Orinoco Access Points (b & g) at several of our office sites.

Maybe you should check the following;
-Ensure that you router is set to accept "b" and "g" connections (assuming you have an 802.11g router).
-If MAC filtering is enabled, enter your 4705's MAC address on the router(you can find the address for the 4700 under Settings/HP Asset Viewer/WiFi).
-If WEP or some other encryption is enabled, make sure you have set this up properly on your 4700. I am using 128 bit WEP. Just for testing, you might want to disable encryption on both the router and 4700 if you think this is a problem.

Hope you get connected. Guess nobody told me the 4700 had a WiFi problem. My only problem to date has been the radio not turning on occasionally without a soft reset (not enough available RAM) but PPC Techs has remedied that with their 128MB RAM upgrade.

Guess nobody told me the 4700 had a WiFi problem.

Doesn't seem to affect all units, just an unfortunate few. See:

Interesting...I use WEP and can't turn off the 802.1x authentication either AND I am now having issues with my new HP Bluetooth Keyboard.

If I use just wi-fi, I'm fine. BUT if I use the BT keyboard and then connect to wi-fi, it kicks me off wi-fi in about 8 seconds and only a reset of the router lets me back on (it actually takes out my whole wi-fi network).

And it's not a channel thing, I have changed the channel on the router to no avail. Also, you would think using the BT keyboard without wi-fi would kill my wi-fi too if it was BT interference...

Sounds like there is a WLAN driver issue of some sort with the hx...

EDIT: Just turned WEP off my router, this fixes the problem with my BT keyboard and my wi-fi. There is a problem Houston...the hx4700 wlan driver has issues!!!
