It might make a difference whether you are running SE or not. These are specifically made for SE:

Ane here are some that were made for First Edition WM2003:

I am actually able to use themes of both types on my e800 upgraded to SE, but you have to use a third party theme manager (like Theme King, etc), instead of selecting the theme from the built in Today screen app, in order to get VGA themes not specifically made for SE to display correctly.

Pocketpcparadise VGA themes are great, but their size are a bit too large. You can also find VGA themes from

http://www.mcdeb.com/vga.html

If you're interested in making your own, you can't go past ThemeBuilder2003. (http://www.ida.net/users/oe1k/programs/ThemeBuilder/)

While it lacks a common UI, you'll find that the fact you can customise pretty much everything makes it all worthwhile. :)

ignar, thanks for the pointer to the long list of Kamware themes on Pocket Themes! I wonder where I've been--I knew Kam had done a few VGA themes, which I downloaded when he posted links at the Brighthand e800 forum a long while ago. But I had no idea he had done so many more! I really like Kam's themes.

As for Fred's themes (Pocket PC Paradise), I don't think they are really too big, it's just that some are designed for either portrait or landscape orientation, like Debs's SE themes are too.

And for making your own, besides ThemeBuilder 2003, Kam just recently announced a new version of ThemeMaker, called ThemeMaker SE, which looks great and works for themes for PPC 2002 and for WM2003, FE or SE, and of course both portrait and landscape orientation. Even though it's not free, I personally think people should support it, given all the beautiful themes Kam makes and provides for free on Pocket Themes!
