Please tell me I'm not the only one to be confused by these two applications:

:? :? :? :? :?

Same name, different company.

Some programs could be OEMed, I suppose...

Pretty sure they are the same program developed by Anton Tomov and licensed by Omega One. On Omega One's product page they have a link to a review at PocketpcAddict which is for the Anton Tomov version.

I was thinking something along the lines of that.

Yet if you visit this PocketGear page here, (http://www.pocketgear.com/products_search.asp?searchfor=pocket+mechanic&x=0&y=0) you will notice that the OmegaOne version is updated to 4 May 2004, and the Anton Tomov version at 10 September 2004. With the step up in version numbers, it seems logical if it was licenced by Anton Tomov. It's actually quite confusing and if this change in licencing actually occurred, it sure was a quiet one. :)

Yeah, that's been bugging me b/c I bought from Omega One, yet they don;t seem to have the more current version available yet. :?:

Perhaps you should email OmegaOne and ask them? Because functionally, they seem to be similar to each other, so maybe you should be entitled to your updates through Anton Tomov. Maybe though...I'm not sure... :? We don't even know if they're the same product.

Did the email a while ago, but no response. They're the same app: If you go into the About... dialog, it gives antontomov.com as the support email. Guess I'll just pester him directly.

Oh...so they are the same application! :D

Probably a wise decision to ask him directly then...whatever floats your boat. ;)
