We've been getting LOADS of e-mail every day from readers who have come across great deals on memory cards. We've seen 1GB SD cards for as low as $59.99 (after rebate) and 1GB CF cards for even less.

Lots of times the great prices aren't available for long, making it tough to take advantage of the offers. But remember, Pocket PC Thoughts can help you find the best prices on memory cards and more. All you need to do is use the PriceGrabber search tool on the Thoughts front page (top, right-hand side). Just type in the item you're looking for and PriceGrabber will show you where all the great deals are.

Not only does this keep you from spending more money than you need to, but it also helps this site. Every time you buy an item by following the PriceGrabber links, Pocket PC Thoughts gets a few pennies. It's not much, but every little bit helps.

And if you DO happen to come across a really great deal on any Pocket PC-related stuff, drop us a line so we can share the news.

Happy hunting!

Sooo... what's the best NON-rebate deal for 1GB or larger SD card? Hehe :D I've just been following on NewEgg's Kingmax 10MB/sec (60x) 1GB SD card. The price keeps dropping, now at $76.50 + $4 shipping.

But more importantly, I would really appreciate best-deal announcements when the new 20MB/sec SD cards from Panasonic, SanDisk et. al arrive, supposedly starting this month!

I was tempted to buy more of the Kingmax but decided to hold off for these 20MB/sec cards instead. As long as PPCThoughts can benchmark that they will make a difference in current Pocket PCs?

 That rebate was only available to US residents. But still, I got a 1GB Lexar SD card for $130CAD + shipping!

But I noticed yesterday that the same capacity Sandisk card is $109CAD at Canadian retailers.

I wonder if Walmart is going to have a SD Card deal for Black Friday? I HOPE it's a large card. I need more storage on my PPC!

Just got a 1 GB SanDisk SD card on Monday. $73.50 + $10 shipping. Not that bad, and the card is brand new/unopened.

FYI,

I picked up a brand new PQI 1GB 45x SD card for $45 + shipping off of eBay. Still the best place to find deals on PPCs and accessories. I got my 4155 for $245! It's gonna be at least another 6 months before you can get them for that price retail. :D

I think comparing the 6 month rating and the lifetime rating says it all.

Wow, pretty soon your own custom OS that you carry around with you on solid-state memory will be a reality. Are there any PCs out there that can boot from a memory card?

But is there any way to lets say put Knoppix (CD bootable Linux OS) on a memory card and tell a PC to boot from a memory card reader/slot?
