They announced it, and we waited...and waited...and waited...and waited!

But it's now available for download!

What in the world am I talking about?

Opera for Windows Mobile

To jump for joy, click here. (http://www.opera.com/download/?platform=symbian&man=Windows%20Mobile)

I thought I'd better clarify the situation on Opera and Windows Mobile. At the moment, they are only releasing it for Smartphone (2003) devices, not Pocket PCs. However, we may see a change in their stance in the future. However, for those lucky enough to own a Smartphone 2003 device, some new features include Small-Screen Rendering and Opera Mobile Accelerator.

There are some features which have not yet been implemented. These features are being worked on and can be expected in later versions of the browser.

Sorry.

I too was excited until I realised it was for Smartphones only. Oh well, at least I got the hopes up of Smartphone owners. :P

DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE...

Nah, kidding. Although you DID get my hopes up for Opera on my PDA. Not that I've used it for some time (not since I convinced my girlfriend to use Firefox instead of Opera), but another full-featured browser for the Pocket PC would sure be nice.

I'm still waiting for MiniMo (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/minimo/) for Microsoft's operating systems.

Don't worry. I've long been a Firefox user, and haven't touched Opera on Windows for quite some time. Nevertheless, the concept is certainly interesting and as you have said, another full-featured browser on the Pocket PC would be welcome anyday.

I had a skim through the Minimo project over the past few months. I certainly do hope it progresses. :)
