I would like to have a screen protector ready to put on it when it arrives, but since the X50v just came out, not many companies have them yet. I've always been a Boxwave fan, but I've never had a VGA screen either.

Any suggestions?

With so many different PDA models out there these days, it can be tough finding a screen protector that is made specifically for a particular device. I tend to think that a screen protector is the very first thing you should install on a new device, so if I had a new v50 coming, I'd focus on getting the type of protector I like and maybe trim it if need be.

I happen to like the ones at http://www.pocketpctechs.com/ws.asp. If it happens to be a little too large, you can trim it very easily with a very sharp knife. They also last nearly forever (I've kept them for a year or more), so by the time you need to replace it, there will most likely be one made specifically for the v50.

Good luck.

If you have an idea of various screen sizes, you should be able to find one to fit -- or that could be trimmed slightly -- from the list at Brando (http://shop.brando.com.hk/screenprotector.php).

I prefer their standard (or slightly matt) WorkShop protector over the glossy UltraClear one. Currently using an UltraClear after having a standard, and the dust and fingerprints and reflections are driving me mad. The Brando have a mild adhesive on them, a polyethylene glycol type wax similar to that used on Post-It Notes. Brando service is very prompt, if you're wondering.

Edt: should have said, I used the matt protector on an HVGA screen, and there was little image degradation -- noticeable, but very little. Not sure what it would do to VGA.
