It also states that the high end model has 128MB RAM and 128MB Flash :D

Might it have been removed due to the japanese school girl porn depicted?

I would love to have left the pic up there, but I did not think the picture was appropriate. Sorry.

Where does it say 128 rom 128 flash?

On the engadget site it says 128/64...

Am I not reading it correctly?

This is the same engadget that said earlier this week that the iPAQ hx2750 is going to have a VGA screen :) I will believe that when I see it.

WHY, Dell, WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY must you only give us 64MB of RAM???

Just when I think that the next manufacturer is going to make THE perfect device, they always let me down on at LEAST one spec.

Oh well, I'm still ditching my iPAQ 4150 for this.

If this has the 2700g, with OpenGL ES support, this could be revolutionary for gaming if supported right.

But notice the many ifs. :\

Is this madness?? How much ram do you want exactly? If its 256 Mb ram, what would you put in there, which would not be better and more cheaply stores on a SD card?

or did I miss the <sarcasm> tags?

LOL, I meant to type 64MB of RAM, not 128MB of RAM :)

I brought the pic into Photoshop and did some fiddling and measuring. Assuming that the screen is in fact 3.7" diagonal, I get the following *approximate* dimensions for the X50V.

w: 2.9" (74 mm)
h: 4.6" (117 mm)
Screen: about 2.25" x 3.0" yields 3.7" diagonal

For comparison, the h4150:
w: 2.78" (71 mm)
h: 4.47" (114 mm)

Let's hear it for the Pythagorean Theorem (http://jwilson.coe.uga.edu/emt669/Student.Folders/Morris.Stephanie/EMT.669/Essay.1/Pythagorean.html)!

The pic is really tame -- long sleeved shirt?! Some of the banner ads here are more revealing! :devilboy:

Either way, this looks like a NICE device and the screen looks well lit and the colors balanced... Dell might just make a large gain in PPC share away from HP with this device!

Not bad. The hight is good, but width is 2.87 according to the rumored specs.

No phone edition. You could buy a GSM/GPRS CF card if you really wanted that, but it wouldn't be the same as a phone edition.

Having spent time in Japan, I can't count the number of times I've been sitting on a train and looked over at some businessman and here he is looking at the Cartoon porn mags that are so prevelent over there. A couple young school girls in their uniform skirts will be looking at him and giggling. Don't forget they sell used panties in vending machines over there. Different cultures.

I've just had another look at it and found:

...and built-in WiFi and Bluetooth...

Wow, this device looks good! Man, what's up with all of these really good non-HP devices coming out all of a sudden? I'm expecting big price drops for the new HP lineup pretty soon.. :)

Don't hold your breath.

Until Dell can gets into the stores somehow, they can only put limited pricing pressure on HP. A lot of devices (especially the mid and lower end models) are sold in stores, and these customers have no idea Dell even makes a PocketPC.

1% error extrapolating off a lousy picture. You're tough.

I phoned Dell UK and they said that the X50 would be be available in the UK 'at the beginning on next month'. No firmer date than than. :|

I've been working with Dell and review units are not even ready and this is something Dell are normally good on so I would suggest an official release is not imminent. ;)

Perhaps there is no announcement on the website as planned,
because they are discussing who should be fired for the original photo.
With that to deal with, perhaps they just lost track of time.

Come off it. That picture was never a Dell official one. I suggest that this is one of the random review units. There have been various sightings around the net of folks receiving them.
