Pocket Earth certainly looks spectacular and is overflowing with features. It works well in VGA and is definitely a program you can show to folks to demonstrate what your PPC is capable of. (Oooooh, pretty!) The only nagging feeling seems to be that this a bit of a 'Why? Because I Can' program. (Not that there's anything wrong with W?BIC? <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7144&amp;">of course.</a> ;-)) I.e. it looks spectacular, but what are you actually going to do with it, really? The PocketNow review is well worth a look, so you can make your own mind up about spending $19.95 on this eye candy. I have been using version 2 of this program for ages and I must say the new version really does look spectacular!

I have actually found it a suprisingly useful program. Partly because I just love to know some of the Trivia it is capable of telling you :D , but also because you can be suprised by how often I have been asked questions like: "I wonder how far it is from Dublin to Perth, Australia" or "where abouts is vladivostok anyway...".

I think it might be time to upgrade!

Personally, I'd use this for trip logging. With a decent BT GPS receiver of course ;)

for the geographically impaired like me it is great. During the height of the Iraq conflict when all the names were new to me I found some comfort in knowing where the cities were.
